What the app stores say about AI video and drama apps

How the listings are read

Apps were found through Apple's public search and lookup for the US store. A listing was kept when its developer website sits on the maker's own domain, or when the app is the maker's product itself. Each listing was then read on one day and its fields copied with a short quote. As of 2026-09-25.

1Which apps are on the shelf

The shelf holds apps whose listing describes making video with AI from ideas, prompts, pictures or characters, drama apps among them. General assistants that also make video, editing apps and apps for watching dramas were left out; so were apps that only make product advertisements.

Searching a well-known name often returns apps from other developers first. Those were not added: an app joins the shelf only as the maker's own listing.

Drma was read on 2026-09-25 and had been removed from the App Store by 2026-09-26, so it is not on the shelf.

2No prices

Listings show in-app purchase prices. They are left out here, because they change more often than the fields recorded and differ by country.

3Android

Google Play was searched for each app. An Android version counts when its developer is the same maker, shown by the developer name and website on the Play listing. When the search showed only other developers' apps, the field reads no Android app found.

4How many apps carry each reading

Every reading given, by field, with the number of apps carrying it.

5Making the drama, wherever it runs

Away from the store listing in “How listings are read”, SceneMixer runs in a browser and describes its pipeline like this:

Paste a scene or a short script and SceneMixer gives you a storyboard — numbered shots with framing and seconds — and then a moving version of each segment, which you can join into a rough cut of the scene.

16:9 landscape (SceneMixer's default) and 9:16 vertical (the usual short-drama frame), chosen per project.

How the register is kept. The tables, counts and rankings on this site are computed by script from the register, and every figure links to the page it was read from, with the words quoted. No maker pays to be listed or to change a place, and each ranking states its rule, written before the places were computed. Entries are not edited at a maker's request: a figure that is out of date is fixed on the maker's own page and picked up when the pages are next read, at least every three months.
